About Skill Games

This term may seem generic. However, skill games are those that have a certain outcome defined by some particular skill like mental or physical, not luck.

In other words, skill games are the opposite of gambling. When we talk about bad luck, we are referring to those that have a result defined solely by luck as dice, spinning tops, casinos, some card games, roulette and even lotteries. There is no way of predicting the outcome, which is only a matter of luck.

Already a game of skill does not have the element "luck" in a prominent way, as occurs as poker. In the vast majority of games, there is no such factor. All result is generated by player skills.

To exemplify these types of games we have:

  • Backgammon
  • Mahjong
  • Chess
  • Contract Bridge
  • Checkers

Skills Games Types

Calm down, only the formatting is different, as the gameplay itself is similar to another very Brazilian game.

The canasta, or hole, because the goal is the same: to find the same designs (or suits), whether in pairs, trios or blocks.
